The last round of Greek championship took place at Fanatix track, Athens, Greece. The weather was sunny at 30-35 degrees. The Greek XRAY team was present with some XB9 cars from all around Greece. The qualification rounds were tough as Papanikolaou is very fast at his âśhome trackâť. So after 4 qualification rounds the standings were as follows:
The final was 45 min in very hot conditions in a very demanding track for cars and drivers. Paparegas T. took the lead approx. after 5 min and never looked back as Papanikolaou had some bad luck with an engine flame out and dropped 8th. The other places were changed all the time and at some point around 30min were 1-2-3 for XRAY. Finally Tasos and his XB9 won easily with a difference of 3 laps from 2nd. His brother John the 2nd XRAY car had a bad landing and a wheel ball bearing failure which forgot to change before the final and the 3rd XB9 in the final Zagorisos had an engine flame out and finished 8th.
Very good performance from XB9 cars once again with 3 cars in the final, one more Greek championship â“ the 5th in a row with perfect score 3 out of 3 races counting. Paparegas Tasos - XRAY XB9 is Greek champion 2013.
